LECTORS (MINISTERS OF THE WORD)
Purpose
​
Lectors to assume responsibility of proclaiming the Word of God.
Time Commitment
​
Review reading ahead of schedule to become comfortable with phrasing, message and words.
​
Arrive for mass 15 minutes early
​
If Deacon is not present, Lector must carry Lectionary to and from ambo and also First Lector is responsible to read General Intercessions/Prayers of the Faithful
If choir is not present, Second Lector to read Psalm
Talents/Skills Required
​
Ability to read
​
Comfort in reading in front of congregation and adjusting microphone
​
If MOW coordinator, must be comfortable with preparing schedule and in communicating with Lectors in a timely manner to meet deadlines
